Scherman Group Manager

Dr Jade A. McCune completeted her MSci Chemistry (First class Honours) from Queen's University, Belfast (Northern Ireland) followed by her PhD in Chemistry from University of Cambridge. Her PhD research studied the monofunctionalisation of Cucurbit[n]uril macrocycles and their applications as well as the novel solvation of macrocyles in Deep Eutectic Solvents.

 Following this, Dr McCune was awarded an EPSRC KT Fellowship to collaboation with MedImmune (AstraZeneca). Jade developed methodology for the bioconjugation of functionalised Cucurbit[n]uril macrocycles and application of these macrocyclic conjugates in vivo. 

Jade has also pioneered the use of deep eutectic solvents for supramolecular chemistry which has been utilised towards small molecule and materials chemistry including the stablisation of highly reactive species such as organic radicals.
